We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor for secondary education, offering both long-term and day-to-day positions. This role provides the flexibility to work a minimum of 1 day per week with options to extend from Monday to Friday. Ideal candidates will have prior teaching experience, and while QTS and PGCE qualifications are advantageous, they are not mandatory.
Day-to-day of the role:- Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that pre-prepared educational activities are delivered.
- Maintain a constructive classroom environment to promote learning and ensure student engagement.
- Manage student behaviour in the classroom and enforce school rules and policies.
- Provide feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement.
- Liaise with teaching staff to ensure effective communication and continuity of learning.
- Respond to any questions from students about process and procedures.
- Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Prior teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
- Flexibility to work on an on-call basis, adapting to different educational settings.
- QTS and PGCE are highly desirable but not essential.
- Competitive daily rate of £110 - £135.
