Junior Food Technologist / QA AuditorRef: HY46302A leading Asian food company in the UK is looking for a Junior Technologist to manage food safety whilst overseeing UK/EU food regulations and supply chain. This role will report to the Technical Manager to ensure compliancy of products supplied by the company within the UK and overseas. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within an established company.Understanding of Japanese culture and some Japanese or Chinese skill would be advantageous.

TYPE: permanent, full-timeWORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm SALARY: £30-35K depending on experience, plus good benefits such as employee discount and free parkingSTART: ASAPLOCATION: Zone 6 of London (Currently Hybrid working style, 3-4 days in the office - It may change depending on the company’s decision.) Food technologist / QA auditor MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To provide technical support to the Technical Manager and wider team• Liaise with buyers and suppliers and customers• Ensure customer and the company technical databases are up to date• Support the sales support teams with customer complaints related to product quality issues• Complete internal technical specifications for internal and external customers including customers that use web-based technical specification websites• Ensure specifications are completed on time and in sufficient detail• Respond to customer alerts and identify actions that need to be taken• Complete other technical requests including Supplier questionnaires, Health Certificates, New Line Forms, generate ingredient listings• Assist in checking the legality of new and amended label artworks to ensure compliance with all relevant UK and EU legislation• Ensure compliance with BRC• Carry out internal audits, GMP, Fabrication, Probe and scale calibrations• Manage temperature checks and record keeping• Keep informed of food safety laws and regulations

Food technologist / QA auditor IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Degree qualified in food science or an associated subject, including Nutrition, Biology, Biochemistry, and Chemistry• Experience within a similar Technologist, QA auditing or Technical Assistant role and willing to progress• HACCP level 2 (desirable)• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Computer skills (word, excel and outlook)• A team player, with the ability to work independently and manage workload• Business level of fluency in English• Chinese language will be advantageous• Some understanding of Japanese culture and Japanese language would be advantageous
