Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer-funded and internal development/production programs.
  • Assist with bid/scoping phases and oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
  • Coordinate with various departments including Sales, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Finance.
  • Manage schedules and resources to ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Directly liaise with customers to fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations for delivered equipment.
  • Report on project progress, risks, and financial status to senior leadership.
  • Support governance, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
  • Help with bid preparation and manage projects requiring customer-funded development.
  • Oversee subcontractors to ensure they meet contractual obligations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for project status and performance updates.
  • Estimate project costs and prepare schedules for bids.
  • Facilitate communication across project teams, stakeholders, and other departments.
  • Monitor progress against project plans and control budgets to avoid overruns.
  • Take corrective action to stay on track with project timelines and financial targets.
  • Organize Factory Acceptance Tests for deliverables.
  • Coordinate equipment dispatch, delivery, and commissioning as required.
  • Attend production and procurement meetings to ensure timely output.
  • Travel within the UK and overseas when necessary, often at short notice.

Experience:

  • HND or degree in project management or relevant experience.
  • APM qualification is advantageous.
  • 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in engineering development.
  • Experience managing projects from initiation to closure.
  • Budget management and forecasting experience.
  • Software development project management experience is highly desirable.
