An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Planning Engineer to join a leading main contractor on an exciting project based in North London. The Planning Engineer will join an established team who are responsible for the delivery of a complex civils infrastructure project valued at circa £120m involving complex earthworks, structures and structures.

Working alongside the Planning Manager they will be responsible for managing the construction pogrammes in Primavera P6 and communicating the programme effectively to the site team and driving progress of works on site.

Duties

  • Develop, manage, and update detailed project schedules for all phases of construction, including earthworks, roadworks, and structures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to align schedules, resources, and project milestones.
  • Monitor progress and productivity, reporting regularly to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential delays and proactively implement mitigation measures.
  • Use planning software (e.g., Primavera P6) to manage complex scheduling requirements and ensure timely completion of project phases.
  • Provide planning insight to support decision-making and foster seamless coordination across disciplines.

Candidate

  • Planning experience in civil engineering or construction projects, ideally on large-scale or high-value projects.
  • Proficiency in planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.) with a strong understanding of civil construction processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of earthworks, roadworks, and structural processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate potential project issues and develop solutions.
