Based: near Greater LondonRemuneration: £40,000-£55,000 + £5,000-£10,000 Bonus

Benefits: Fully Expensed Ford Ranger & BenefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Porcelain and Ceramic Tiles will involve:

  • Field sales role selling predominantly a manufactured range of wall & floor ceramic tiles, but also large format slabs for kitchen worktops
  • Responsible for circa 30 tile distributors who service customers buying direct from Spain (80% of turnover)
  • Responsible for circa another 30 independent bathroom retailers, where customers buy from UK subsidiary
  • Helping to implement new company strategy which focuses on customers that are spending between €60,000-€250,000 per annum (commercial tiles via distribution and large format slabs for kitchen worktops via independent bathroom retailers
  • 50% of your tie with the tile distributors (currently circa £700,000 turnover) and 50% with tiles retailers - (circa £370,000)
  • and approx. 5 importers
  • 50% account management, 50% new business development role (70% account management after 2 years)
  • Circa 15 customer visits per day
  • Overnight stays when required, and travel 3-4 times a year to Spain and Italy
  • Assisting with merchandising, training, developing and nurturing bathroom retailers

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Porcelain and Ceramic Tiles with:

  • Tile industry field sales experience
  • Retail/ tile merchant or distribution customer experience preferred
  • Worked for or sold to a tile distributor or independent bathroom retailers or tile merchant
  • Hard working and honest
  • Willing to travel/ stay overnight when required
  • Professional and prepared with strong organisation and territory management capability
  • Prepared to do high UK mileage and happy to travel abroad when required
