About the role - 1:1 teaching assistant

I am working with this mainstream secondary school in Enfield who are looking to appoint a 1:1 teaching assistant to start with them as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be working 1:1 and in a small group with a group of students proving to have challenging behaviour. The school are looking for an individual who is calm where their main purpose is to build rapport and establish a positive relationship whilst helping the students stay on track and progress with their learning.

About the school - 1:1 teaching assistant

This multi-ethnic and multi-cultural, secondary school based in Newham support a total of 814 students aged 11 to 16. With the school newly opened in January 2018, there is continuous growth with a curriculum that suits the needs of each individual with high levels of challenge. The school has a provision for 25 pupils with profound, severe, and multiple learning difficulties which is supported by a specialist PMLD team of teachers and support staff. The school is described as a safe, positive, and family-friendly environment with exceptional facilities for young people to learn and grow. The current headteacher is passionate about supporting all pupils to leave having made excellent progress throughout their time in school.
