Legal Secretary - Family Law

part-time basis, 3 days per week

£30k (pro-rata)

Enfield (EN2) office based

Are you a highly organised and experienced Legal Secretary with a background in Family Law? If so, our client, an excellent law firm, will want to speak with you. They are looking for a confident and capable professional to support the Head of their busy Family Department on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week.

This is a varied and rewarding role that requires someone with excellent attention to detail, great people skills, and a calm, efficient approach. You’ll be an essential part of the team, helping them deliver exceptional support to clients during what can be a challenging time in their lives.

To be considered, you must have recent experience working in a Family Law department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate and fast audio typing (ideally 65 wpm)
  • Managing correspondence and phone calls with sensitivity and professionalism
  • Preparing electronic court bundles using Adobe PDF tools
  • Opening and managing client files, including ID checks and compliance documents
  • Creating and editing legal forms (including Oyez and court applications)
  • Liaising with Counsel and preparing/distributing bills and disbursement notes
  • Filing post, emails and documents using the case management system
  • Using online portals (HMCTS, Land Registry) to support the legal process
  • Running WIP reports and assisting with billing
  • General administrative support to the Head of Department

You’ll need strong IT skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and case management systems. Excellent client care is essential — many of the clients are going through sensitive situations and your support can make all the difference.
