A global defence and security company are looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team! This role is primarily field-based, supporting customers worldwide by performing various tasks on naval vessels, commercial ships, and shore-based systems. This offers you the opportunity to travel around the UK & globally, working on cutting-edge projects across naval vessels, commercial ships, and shore-based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Regular travel within the UK and to various international destinations is a key aspect of this role, with the possibility of short notice travel requests. However, most trips are brief, typically lasting no longer than two weeks.
  • Perform service interventions, including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing.
  • Provide detailed service reports and expense documentation promptly upon completion of each task.
  • Maintain effective communication with line management, reporting any technical issues encountered in the field.
  • While in the office, assist the Customer Services Technical Helpdesk by responding to customer emails and, when necessary, creating Technical Advice Sheets.
  • Always aim for excellence in Quality, Improvement, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations during working hours.
  • Complete required training courses as needed.
  • Occasionally, be prepared to work beyond the standard 37-hour week or outside of regular hours while adhering to contractual obligations.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
  • Strong background of using various hardware and software applications.
  • Knowledge of basic Networking
  • Full driving licence
  • Valid passport
  • ONC qualified preferably but not essential.
