Job Title: Operations Director
Location: Head Office (with travel)
Role Overview
A strategic leadership role, balancing high-quality service delivery with financial and growth objectives. The Operations Director will be responsible for leading the operational strategy, managing the P & L, and ensuring the effective implementation of best-in-class service standards. This role requires a strong leader with a proven ability to drive operational excellence, develop high-performing teams, and deliver on financial and strategic targets.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Define and execute the operational strategy, policies, and procedures to support business growth.
- Take full accountability for P&L, including budget management and financial performance.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities to support revenue growth.
- Ensure alignment between operations and the wider business strategy.
Operational & Service Excellence
- Oversee operational delivery, ensuring timely, high-quality service within budget.
- Continuously seek and implement opportunities for efficiency and performance improvement.
- Maintain robust systems and processes for operational risk and compliance, particularly around health and safety.
- Implement monitoring systems to track and report on key performance indicators.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Ensure professional development and succession planning within key business areas.
- Establish and lead a Senior Management Team to drive strategic and operational objectives.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Work closely with the MD, CCO, and Technical Director to support sales, mobilisation, and innovation.
- Contribute to technical and product development with the Technical Team.
- Act as a key escalation point for operational challenges.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role with full P&L accountability.
- Background in a relevant industry based around Integrated Technology (Telecomms, M & E, Data Infrastructure, IT Infrastructure, Electronic Security).
- Experience managing projects, service, and maintenance operations across both private and public sectors.
- Strong strategic thinking ability to drive business growth and operational efficiencies.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in strategic planning and budgeting.
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- Resilient and adaptable with a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant operations.
- Strong IT proficiency.
Role Dimensions & Package
Location: Office-based with national operational responsibility and travel.
Work Hours: Full-time, flexibility required including occasional out-of-hours and weekend work.
Package:
- Base Salary of 100k - 130k (negotiable)
- Performance-based bonus (OTE to be confirmed)
