An outstanding Private Senior School based in Enfield are seeking to appoint their next qualified Music Teacher to join them from January 2025. This role is part or full time and permanent.

About the School

Pupils joining the Senior School from the Prep School have already experienced teaching at senior level through their 'Transition classes’ . The Music Department

The music scheme of work is balanced, broad and covering a range of eras and genres. Each term is well-planned for each year group. It is led by an excellent Teacher of Music and you will be joining them in completing the department. You will also have support from the very approachable senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Teach music theory, instrumental techniques, and vocal skills in a structured manner.
  • Prepare students for performances, examinations, and competitions as appropriate.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
  • Organise and participate in school concerts, recitals, and other musical events.
  • Maintain an encouraging and positive classroom environment that promotes creativity and self-expression.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate music into the broader curriculum.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in music education and incorporate innovative teaching methods

About you

The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging music lessons, fostering a love for music and creativity. This role involves teaching various musical instruments, vocal techniques, and music theory to students of all ages and skill levels.

  • Proven experience teaching music in a formal setting is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in one or more musical instruments (e.g., piano, guitar, violin) is essential.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO PLAY THE PIANO
  • Strong understanding of music theory and composition.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching music are crucial attributes.

To be successful, You will have

  • Qualified Teacher Statues (QTS)
