Job Title:Assistant/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
Location:Enfield, North London
Salary:£30,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience) + £5,000 car allowance

Client Overview:A well-established company with good year on year growth specialising in social housing projects, including kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, void property works, and projects for local councils and the Ministry of Defence (MOD). We are looking for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor for them to join their dynamic team in Enfield, North London. Quantity Surveyor Job Description:As an Assistant/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will assist the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyors in managing the financial aspects of our projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with at least one year of Quantity Surveying experience, particularly within social housing and related sectors, who is eager to grow and develop their career in a thriving company.

Quantity Surveyor Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Management:Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
  • Tendering and Procurement:Support the procurement process, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of tenders, and awarding of contracts.
  • Scope of Works:Collaborate with project teams to define the scope of works, ensuring clarity and accuracy in project documentation.
  • Valuations and Payments:Assist in the preparation of valuations for interim and final payments, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Change Management:Support the assessment and management of variations, ensuring that all changes are accurately documented and costed.
  • Compliance:Ensure that all work adheres to relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies, including the National Housing Federation (NHF) schedule of rates.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement:Maintain strong relationships with clients, local councils, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and financial status.
  • Reporting:Prepare regular financial and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within social housing, kitchens and bathrooms, voids, or MOD projects.
  • Familiarity with NHF schedules of rates and local council project requirements.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the company, with a proactive and ambitious approach to career development.
  • Full UK driving license.
