About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Maths and Science Teacher for placement in a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Enfield. This role is ideal for a passionate educator with a proven background in working with students with SEMH needs. You will deliver Maths and Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, adapting your approach to create an engaging, supportive environment that meets each student’s unique learning and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach high-quality, differentiated Maths and Science lessons designed specifically for students with SEMH needs, fostering both academic and personal growth.
- Regularly assess and monitor progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to support varied learning styles and address individual challenges.
- Establish positive, consistent routines and reinforce constructive behaviours, maintaining a structured and supportive classroom environment.
- Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, and school team to implement personalised education plans (IEPs) and address specific needs that impact student learning and well-being.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience working in an SEMH school or with students who have social, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Ability to use effective strategies to manage behaviour and foster a positive learning environment.
- Strong understanding of SEMH strategies, with a compassionate and adaptive approach to teaching students with diverse and complex needs.
