GSL Education 'London Branch' are seeking an enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a SEMH school in Enfield in January, helping students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs achieve their full potential through innovative and personalised learning.


About the role:
As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs, ensuring they are fully supported in their academic and personal development. You will create engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

About the School:
At this school, every student has a personal learning plan to help them thrive. It’s for students aged 11–18 who need extra support with social, emotional, or mental health challenges. The school creates a nurturing environment, focusing on positive relationships and personal growth through specialised teaching and care.

Responsibilities of the Maths Teacher:

  • Plan and teach math lessons for SEMH students' needs.
  • Check and report student progress; adjust teaching as needed.
  • Build positive relationships to support growth and confidence with the students.
  • Work with SEN and pastoral teams for student support.
  • Help improve the math curriculum and join in school activities.

Requirements of the Maths Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Maths, ideally within a SEN or SEMH environment.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and a passion for supporting young people with emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
