Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Homeless Housing Coordinator for a Local Authority based in East London.

In this role, you will provide homelessness casework, collaborate with legal teams and partners to prevent homelessness, and support vulnerable individuals and families in securing sustainable housing solutions.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Provide specialist homelessness casework to applicants, ensuring compliance with housing legislation and local policies.
  • Create and manage Personal Housing Plans (PHP) tailored to individual applicants' needs.
  • Offer advice on housing, welfare rights, and homelessness prevention strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, courts, and solicitors to challenge possession orders and prevent evictions.
  • Represent the council in court, presenting cases to defend or challenge homelessness decisions.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Significant experience in providing specialist homelessness casework to applicants with complex needs.
  • Experience working collaboratively with partners and agencies to improve outcomes for homeless individuals and families.
  • Experience in carrying out casework in line with housing legislation, policies, and strategies at national, regional, and local levels.
  • Experience in creating and managing tailored housing plans and maintaining accurate client records.

What's on offer:

Salary: £22+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
