We are seeking a Sheltered Housing Officer for an immediate start in an ongoing temporary position within the Enfield local authority. This role involves providing high-quality support to service users, empowering them to achieve their outcomes. The successful candidate will manage complex casework and ensure the safety and well-being of residents in housing for older people and specialist housing.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide comprehensive support to service users, helping them plan and work towards their outcomes.
  • Work effectively both individually and as part of a team to achieve service outcomes.
  • Contribute actively to the development and smooth running of the service in line with local policies and legislation.
  • Deliver a tenure-blind, wholesome service that meets the needs of the wider community in housing for older people and specialist housing.
  • Manage complex casework related to safeguarding, domestic abuse, mental health, older people support, hoarding, property condition, mediation and dispute resolution, anti-social behaviour, alcohol, and substance misuse.
  • Perform property management functions, ensuring compliance with health, safety, fire safety, and resident safety standards.
  • Conduct testing and regular inspections of dwellings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing complex casework in a related field.
  • Strong understanding of issues affecting older people and those in specialist housing.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Knowledge of local policies, legislation, and procedures relevant to housing and social care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse groups.
