Job Role

Provide specialist housing and support pathways for homeless applicants with more complex needs, such as survivors of domestic abuse.

Provide specialist casework to applicants experiencing domestic abuse. The Resilience Team will also embed safeguarding best practice across the wider Housing Advisory Service.

Main Responsibilities

To provide excellent customer service to homeless applicants and key partners.

To provide specialist homelessness casework to survivors of domestic abuse, ensuring that all aspects of casework are carried out in accordance with legislation, strategies, policies and initiatives set out at the national, regional and local level - through effective and regular case work supervision, advice, guidance and support.

Help ensure the survivors safety through appropriate and timely interventions into incidents of female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour-based violence.

Collaborate with internal and external partners to improve outcomes for domestic abuse survivors with housing needs.

Contribute to the dissemination and embedding of safeguarding best practice across the wider Housing Advisory Service.

Contribute to the development of the Resilience Team and wider Housing Advisory Service.

Due to the nature of most domestic abuse cases, this role is for a female officer only.
