Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental HealthNHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 6 Mental health Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team to work within the community. The client offers a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.
Main Duties for the Band 6 Mental health Occupational Therapist
- 17 bedded male acute inpatient mental health ward in the Enfield Mental Health.
- The post holder will provide a variety of specialised Occupational Therapy Assessments and interventions.
- Promoting a recovery approach and social inclusion on the wards.
- Community settings and home visits as appropriate to support safe discharge of service users.
- This will include assessment and treatment on the unit, in community settings and home visits as appropriate to support the acute clinical pathway.
- Assessment and review of care packages and liaison with other organisations and health care providers will also be required, to enable service users to live as independently as possible.
- Deliver evidence based Occupational Therapy interventions.
- Tools to ascertain level of functional ability, related risk factors, level of support, and accommodation needs to implement community care plans.
- An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.
To Be Successful.
- Previous experience working as an Mental health Occupational Therapist in the community and mental health settings.
- Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS.
- Manual handling experience.
- HCPC Registration.
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
- Have all immunisations.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Occupational Therapist Qualification.
