About the RoleAre you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Enfield. This is an excellent opportunity to provide meaningful support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those from vulnerable backgrounds or those exhibiting challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities- Mentoring Support: Provide one-to-one and group mentoring for students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome personal barriers to learning and development.
- Behaviour Management: Implement and support positive behaviour strategies across the school.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and pastoral team to ensure tailored interventions and support for students.
- Relationship Building: Develop trusting relationships with students to encourage positive attitudes and engagement in school.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track students' progress and well-being, sharing updates with staff and parents as necessary.
- External Collaboration: Liaise with external agencies and professionals to create a strong support network for students.
- Experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Support Worker, or in a similar role.
- Proven ability to work with students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or from vulnerable backgrounds.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage and motivate young people.
- Understanding of youth work principles, with experience in educational or community settings.
- Ability to manage behaviour positively and implement personalised intervention strategies.
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker, or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of mental health support strategies and safeguarding protocols.
- Relevant qualifications in youth work, behavioural management, or education support.
