- Build and test software to ensure the successful deployment of the company’s products and services
- Produce and maintain detailed software build and test specifications
- Act as a technical liaison with both internal teams and external customers, ensuring seamless communication on software-related matters
- Contribute to improving the testability of software
- Take on additional project tasks as assigned by management
- Undertake any other tasks associated with the role as needed.
- Technical background with a solid understanding of software engineering
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office
- Good understanding of the Software Engineering Lifecycle, particularly software testing and integration
- Experience with scripting/programming languages to automate builds and testing processes
- At least 1 year of practical experience in testing software for PCs running Windows
- Proven experience in writing test plans, specifications and reports
- Experience in building software and software installers is desirable
- Previous experience in a technical/engineering role is preferred
- A relevant Engineering Degree with a focus on Software or equivalent qualification (candidates with lower qualifications may be considered if supported by relevant experience)
- Willingness to travel occasionally for ship visits and related activities, both in the UK and abroad
