Overview
We are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:2:1 support to primary-age pupils with Special Educational Needs. This role is based in a Primary School in Waltham Cross, EN8!The ideal candidate should have recent experience working in schools and a cheerful, friendly demeanour.
Responsibilities
SEN Teaching Assistants play a vital role in the classroom. Your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Assist in executing individual education plans for pupils with SEN, including those with Autism and ADHD.
- Support pupils in their academic endeavours and contribute to building their confidence and independence.
- Cultivate positive connections with pupils and colleagues, and communicate effectively with teachers and parents.
- Advocate for inclusion and equality within the educational environment.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.
Requirements
Any potential SEN Teaching Assistants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have a valid enhanced DBS certificate (registered on the update service) or be willing to pay for a new one.
- Prior, recent experience working with children with special educational needs.
- Capability to foster positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Understanding of and dedication to advancing diversity, equality, and inclusion.
- Desirable to have relevant qualifications or training in SEN support.
- Positive, diligent approach with a keen interest in supporting children's learning and growth.
Hours & Pay
This is a full-time position, working hours of 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term-time only).
This is a temporary to permanent position. We offer a daily rate of 85-95 per day (paid weekly: (Apply online only) PAYE).
A permanent contract is available once you have completed at least 12 academic weeks (and subject to excellent performance).
