Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, such as Autism, Social Emotional & Mental Health needs, and Severe Learning Difficulties.
- Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) that help students access the curriculum and make progress.
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and engaged.
- Help manage challenging behaviour, using de-escalation strategies and promoting positive social interactions.
We're Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly in a primary school setting.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to support children in managing their emotions and behaviours.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to collaborating with teachers and other staff members.
