About the Role:
We are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming 3-form entry primary school in Edmonton, providing dedicated support to students with challenging behaviour. Starting on the 4th of November, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive and nurturing environment where every child can achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to students with challenging behaviour
- Implement behaviour management strategies, following the school's approach
- Support students' learning and emotional development with patience and positivity
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to adapt learning activities and create a supportive classroom environment
- Assist in monitoring and documenting student progress, addressing behaviour and emotional needs effectively
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEN, particularly in managing challenging behaviour
- A valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate
- Excellent communication skills, resilience, and a proactive approach
- Ability to build positive relationships and foster a safe, encouraging learning space
