The Role:

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN Unit).
  • Salary: £80-£100 per day, depending on experience.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work in a small, well-resourced SEN unit designed to provide additional support for pupils who benefit from a quieter learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support children with ASD, ADHD, and communication needs.
  • Implement structured interventions and sensory-based activities to support learning and development.
  • Support pupils in managing emotions and social interactions, promoting independence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and the SENCO to ensure tailored support for each pupil.
  • Help maintain a calm, engaging, and structured classroom environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to working with SEN pupils.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience with PECS, Makaton, or sensory learning approaches is desirable but not essential.
