GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Enfield. Responsibilities of the SEN TA:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning.
  • Assist the teacher in delivering tailored lessons that meet individual learning and emotional needs.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioural regulation strategies.
  • Foster apositive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring students feel safe and supported.
  • Assist with classroom management, implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
    • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.

Requirements for the SEN TA:

  • Experience working with SEMH students in an educational or care setting.
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of de-escalation strategies and behaviour management techniques.
  • Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable but not essential).
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
