Job Role:Â SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Rate: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract:Â Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Enfield. Responsibilities of the SEN TA:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning.
- Assist the teacher in delivering tailored lessons that meet individual learning and emotional needs.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioural regulation strategies.
- Foster apositive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring students feel safe and supported.
- Assist with classroom management, implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
Requirements for the SEN TA:
- Experience working with SEMH students in an educational or care setting.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of de-escalation strategies and behaviour management techniques.
- Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable but not essential).
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
