The Enfield based school has 50 pupils on role and an amazing and supportive staff behind it. The students are working to the current curriculum or a maximum of 2 years below, meaning that they are able to complete their GCSE's in year 11. The students have ASD and ADHD, but have very minimal behavioural concerns. The school has recently been refurbished with a new Sensory room, and Therapy hub for the students to attend when they feel overwhelmed. The school has students aged from 7-16, with the majority being within the secondary unit.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work with a warm and positive school, who are focused on child engagement with a specific approach to children with autistic and ADHD traits. The school's specialist care, therapeutic services and education provide support for children with complex learning difficulties and disabilities, including social, emotional and mental health / SEMH. The school creates an environment for each individual to develop both academically and personally.
All people working in a school will need an enhanced DBS on the update service, if you do not have this then we can assist by sending you over a direct link for you to apply to. If you have been working overseas for over 6 months within the last 5 years, you will need an OSPC (Overseas Police Check) - Both of these are needed due to safeguarding, so will be a requirement for all school environments.
The Successful SENCO will have:
- Experience working within SEND schools
- A QTS or equivalent
- An SENCO certification
- The ability to inspire young minds
- Excellent time and classroom management
