Job Title: Business Development Manager Wiring Systems and Lighting Controls

Sector: Lighting and Electronic Sector, Lighting Control Modules (LCMs), Sensors, Leads, Modular Wiring Accessories, MCC (LCM's), Switching, Dimming and Addressable Versions, Electrical Contractors, Electrical Installers, M&E contractors and Engineers

Area to be covered: London & South East

Remuneration: £50,000 neg. + £9,000-£10,000 commission

The role of the Area Sales Manager Wiring Systems and Lighting Controls will involve:

Field sales position promoting a vast range of wiring systems and lighting control systems

Selling direct into electrical and M&E contractors

Project led role, typically targeting projects between £20,000-£30,000 (plus lots of smaller sales)

85% account management/ development of existing relationships

15% new business development

Responsible for circa 250 customers, 50 of which will need regular visits

Typically 12-15 customer appointments per week

Revenue responsibility of approx. £1m

Inheriting an area currently achieving circa 85% of target YTD

Targeting sectors such as: commercial, manufacturing, warehouse and retail

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Wiring Systems and Lighting Controls with:

Must have project led electrical field sales experience

Must have sold wiring systems or lighting controls field sales experience (may consider fire alarms)

Demonstrable track record manging and building relationships with electrical and M&E contractors

3-5 years proven track record in field sales

Ideally working for a manufacturer

May consider a field sales person who has sold into electrical wholesale, but only if project led

Autonomous in nature

Excellent work ethic/ goals driven

Ideally have electrical / mechanical qualifications or related experience

Previous experience within the commercial, manufacturing, warehouse and retail sectors may be beneficial

Highly organised and capable
