Reed are working with a public sector authority, responsible for the management, maintenance, development, and restoration of inland navigable waterways. We are seeking a dedicated Engineer to be part of our team in Enniskillen, delivering engineering projects across the island of Ireland.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Undertake surveys, inspections, studies, and evaluations, and write associated reports.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, designs, drawings, tenders, and contract documents.
  • Supervise site works and contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s capital works and maintenance programmes.
  • Manage and monitor projects within budget, ensuring they meet deadlines and pre-determined quality standards.
  • Liaise with environmental officers and external authorities to ensure environmental requirements and best practices are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare legislation and best practices relevant to construction works.
  • Assist with policies, strategies, and standards; contribute to the promotion of business culture and values.
  • Supervise staff where relevant and maintain productive working relationships both internally and externally.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A degree (2.2 or above) in Civil or Structural Engineering which qualifies for full chartered membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or Engineers Ireland.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in a design office environment.
  • Valid Driving licence and access to a form of transport for travel throughout Ireland.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and IT-based surveying equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good problem-solving abilities.
