Construction Disputes Lawyer (0-4 PQE) – Edinburgh or Glasgow

 Douglas Scott are delighted to be working with a leading Scottish law firm to recruit a talented Construction Disputes Lawyer (0-4 years PQE). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a top-tier Contentious Construction team, with positions available in either Edinburgh or Glasgow and hybrid working arrangements to suit you. About the Role

Our client’s Construction Disputes team is part of their Property and Infrastructure Disputes practice group, within the wider Commercial Disputes division. The team has a well-established reputation for handling complex, high-value disputes across the construction and engineering sectors, with particular expertise in infrastructure, energy, and civil engineering. The team represents a broad client base, including key players in industries such as:

  • Power and utilities
  • Rail
  • Renewables
  • Commercial and residential development
  • Leisure and hotels
  • Food and drink
  • Education, health, and defence
They act for major UK employers, contractors, and subcontractors, advising on disputes across Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The team handles adjudications, mediations, arbitrations, expert determinations, and court work, with a strong focus on cases in the Court of Session in Edinburgh. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Construction Disputes Lawyer in this team, you will:
  • Provide high-quality advice on complex, high-value disputes to sophisticated commercial clients.
  • Help clients achieve their objectives by crafting tailored solutions to their disputes and challenges.
  • Represent clients in dispute resolution proceedings, including adjudications, mediations, and arbitrations, as well as court processes across the UK.
  • Assist in drafting settlements and dispute-related agreements.
  • Work closely with experienced and supportive colleagues, gaining exposure to top-tier legal expertise.
