The role of the SHEQ Manager - Timber Manufacturing will involve:

  • SHEQ Manager position responsible for implementing the highest health, safety, environmental and quality for two manufacturing sites
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect the timber manufacturing industry
  • Ensure risk profile of the sites is documented through suitable risk assessments
  • Pro-actively create/implement action plans to reduce risk and ensure in line with hierarchy of control methodology
  • Ensure an effective SHEQ on-boarding programme for all who enter and work on the sites (employees, contractors, and visitors)
  • Organise regular random safety inspection audits of all areas, record, analyse and report on the results, and suggest and follow up on improvements
  • Ensure that all incidents and near misses are reported, investigated, and most importantly addressed in a timely manner
  • Work with management to develop and maintain practical and effective policies and procedures
  • Will be required to travel to Scotland site once per month

The ideal applicant will be a SHEQ Manager - Timber Manufacturing with:

  • Must have 5+ years in a SHEQ / Health and Safety Manager or equivalent position within the manufacturing market sector
  • Experienced in all areas of Health and Safety maintaining policies, assessing risks, training, audits and inspection, dealing with incidents and reporting
  • Knowledge of BS OHSAS 18001 and ISO 45001 standards in a heavy production environment
  • Ideally will have knowledge of environment (ISO 14001) and quality (ISO 9000)
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Must be an excellent communicator and leader
