Our client is an established commercial property company based in Epping, Essex. They are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Sole Charge Bookkeeper to manage their financial records. This role requires proficiency in Sage and the ability to produce accurate trial balance reports. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, and work independently to manage all aspects of bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage.
- Process and record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate posting to trial balance level.
- Record rental income and service charges from tenants.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Produce monthly trial balance reports.
- Provide regular cash flow updates.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
- Support annual audits and provide requested documentation to external accountants.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a sole charge bookkeeper.
- Proficiency in SAGE or Xero accounting software.
- Strong understanding of trial balance and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of VAT
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
