Job Title: Logistics Co-Ordinator/Team Leader
Reports to: UK Distribution Manager
Location: CM16 6HR
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Friday: 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM


Job Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the UK Distribution function, ensuring smooth execution of distribution processes, supervising the team, and driving quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. The role includes managing staff, processes, and ensuring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).



Key Duties & Responsibilities:



Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead a team of UK Distribution and Assembly Operatives, ensuring quality standards are met, deadlines are achieved, and operational efficiency is maintained.

  • Conduct regular tool box talks, monthly 1-2-1s, and manage KPI targets and a skills matrix to monitor team development.

  • Identify training needs, arrange and deliver training where applicable, and maintain comprehensive records.

Operations & Process Oversight:

  • Monitor team workloads, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and processes, while managing and reporting status updates to the UK Distribution Manager.

  • Promote and maintain 5S standards within the team and designated areas, ensuring a clean, organised, and efficient workspace.

  • Conduct process functions via SAP and external distribution portals.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, conduct weekly safety walks, monitor/report accidents and near misses, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Review and update risk assessments as needed.

Inventory & Equipment Management:

  • Oversee inventory control, including periodic inventory (PI) counts and investigations into discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and operational, reporting any issues for resolution.

Administration & Reporting:

  • Administer incoming goods and returns, managing the documentation process and ensuring accurate booking in line with Goods In policy.
  • Monitor and report on staff attendance, including attendance calendars, return-to-work interviews, and accident records.

Site Management:

  • Act as the point of contact and manage the site in the absence of the UK Distribution Manager.
  • Undertake any other tasks or projects as assigned by management.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to provide clear and concise instructions within a team environment.
  • Experience in logistics within a manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of stock control and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
