A well-established and growing Electrical and FireSec contractor are looking to grow their electrical team with the appointment of an NICEIC QS.

They work generally within the public sector within both housing and the commercial buildings associated with the public sector.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced NICEIC QS, who has worked their way up from the tools who has also ideally worked within the Public Sector within a similar role.

You will be strong technically and also be able to manage people and works, there are opportunities within the business for development as they are growing and in a very healthy position.

Job Description

  • Ensuring all required NICEIC certification is completed and issued promptly to enable project completion and inclusion in O&M Manuals
  • Undertaking the role of 'Qualifying Supervisor' as defined by the NICEIC and liaising directly with the NICEIC
  • Monitoring certification and compliance with all necessary regulations, ensuring inspection and testing results are correctly recorded on appropriate certificates or reports
  • Verifying all site electrical inspection and testing results in a timely manner to prevent project completion delays
  • Conducting regular site surveys on compliance and quality, inspecting electrical installations to ensure full compliance with the current edition of IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 and NICEIC standards
  • Compiling detailed reports on site surveys, communicating required actions to the site team and Contract Manager, and ensuring rectification works are planned and completed before project handover
  • Inspecting electrical certification issued by engineers and sub-contractors to ensure full compliance with BS7671 and NICEIC standards
  • Ensuring inspection and testing results are correctly recorded on appropriate certificates
  • Completing certificates on company software upon completion of any electrical installations or alterations
  • Being available for any NICEIC audits or annual assessments to ensure membership remains
  • Assisting with any on-site testing required to ensure full completion of electrical certification
Person Specification

  • Qualified electrician with valid 2360 Part 1&2 / 2330 Level 2&3, including EAS approved craft qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Apprentice trained or equivalent acceptable qualification
  • IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition, BS 7671: 2018 C&G 2382-18 or later, including the latest amendments
  • Electrical Inspection and Testing C&G 2391 or equivalent
  • Previous NICEIC QS experience
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with staff and contractors
  • Ability to prioritise work activities
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
