A very well-established and successful research and development company are seeking an FPGA Design Engineer to join their team nearEpsom, Surrey. As an FPGA Design Engineer, you will work with a small team of hardware, software, and mechanical design engineers to assist with the design and development of electro-mechanical products and systems which are used in the audio industry. The role will cover from specification through to hardware testing and verification.

Key responsibilities of the FPGA Design Engineer job:

  • Design and development of complex FPGA designs and bespoke DSP algorithms.
  • Implement new FPGA designs, using VHDL primarily for Xilinx devices
  • Use modern simulation and verification techniques to create comprehensive testing/simulation environments
  • Design digital audio signal processing algorithms and study mathematical behaviours
  • Evaluate and test signal processing function and performance

Key skills / experience required for the FPGA Design Engineer job:

  • FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog
  • Experience with DSP algorithm design and programming, or in-depth experience of a complex DSP project
  • Experience in FPGA design, simulation/verification, synthesis, static timing analysis, verification and debugging
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing theory and principles
