Bookkeeper

  • Job Type: Part-time, Temporary, 3 days per week.
  • Location: Hybrid working 2 days in the office and one from home (Tues and Weds in the office) 
  • Duration: 5 weeks starting January 6th 2025
  • Working Days: 3 days per week (7.5 hours per day) 
  • Pay: £15.00- £17.00 PAYE or £18.20- £20.76 per hour via an umbrella company. 

We are seeking a temporary Bookkeeper to join our team for a five-week period starting in early January. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in financial duties and general office management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining our financial records and providing administrative support, ensuring smooth operations during this period.  This is to cover some internal annual leave. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain the audit trail on financial spreadsheets and Sage 50.
  • Manage payments of invoices from suppliers and translators by preparing bank transfers and using online payment systems.
  • Prepare bank transfers for payroll and raise customer invoices in our Plunet management system, ensuring they are sent out timely.
  • Maintain the sales ledger and handle provider invoices within our Plunet management system.
  • Conduct credit control and handle expenses efficiently.
  • Resolve and answer queries promptly to ensure continuous flow of operations.
  • Oversee general office duties including managing office supplies, processing annual and sick leave, and liaising with the landlord’s agent and other suppliers as necessary.
  • Handle incoming post and provide administrative support to staff members as required.
  • Be prepared to assist with any other tasks within the business to support team needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Broad experience with Sage Line 50 (mandatory).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written, numeric, and verbal communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Reliable team player with a flexible approach.
