Location: fully remote, occasional client/site visits which will be fully expensed.
I am seeking a skilled Rail Civil Engineer to join a small growing consultancy that works at a strategic level with major industry stakeholders. This role is fully remote, though occasional site visits and client meetings (fully expensed) will be required.
The team welcome applicants from across the UK. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of clients, projects, as well as work on international projects.
Requirements:
- A civil/structural design engineer with rail experience, ideally in track or station design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bentley tools, and hand calculations
- Almost-chartered or chartered – essential.
- Someone with a problem-solving mindset who enjoys exploring the unknown
- Strong written communication skills and technical reporting experience
- A passion for learning and professional development – MSc funding and further training available!
The Role:
- Early-stage civil engineering design for rail infrastructure projects
- Involvement in station design, track design, and multidisciplinary rail projects
- Use of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Bentley rail design tools
- Performing hand calculations and producing technical documentation in Excel and Word
- Exposure to bidding, marketing, and business development activities.
