Ecologist

They are seeking an enthusiastic Ecologist to help us continue our tradition of delivering award-winning projects that enhance biodiversity and benefit society.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to contribute to nationally significant and high-profile projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and undertake field surveys; analyse and interpret survey results.
  • Serve as an Ecological Clerk of Works, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting best practices in ecological conservation.
  • Engage in continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team to foster innovation and professional growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A degree in ecology or a closely related field. Other equivalent higher education qualifications will also be considered.
  • Membership of a recognised ecological institute
  • Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) Level 3 or above is desirable, or equivalent demonstrable skills.
  • Strong protected species survey skills, with demonstrable competency to lead protected species surveys in line with industry standards.
  • Desirable: Level 1 or Level 2 survey licence for bats and other protected species survey licences.
  • Experience with UK Habitat survey, habitat condition assessments, and biodiversity metrics. Experience in undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain assessments is advantageous.
  • Excellent collaborative skills to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • A full UK/EEC driving licence is essential.
