We are seeking an experienced, fully qualified Interim Financial Accounting Manager to join our client's finance team. This role will be pivotal in supporting the Director of Finance in managing and delivering accurate financial and regulatory reporting, overseeing month-end processes, year-end audits, and mentoring a Financial Accountant. The ideal candidate will bring a background in the building society or banking sector, with hands-on experience in FRS102, IAS39 hedge accounting, and regulatory reporting.

This is an 18 month contract.

This is a hybrid role with one day a week in the office in Epsom.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

  • Directly manage and mentor the Financial Accountant, providing guidance and support for their professional development.

Financial and Regulatory Reporting:

  • Lead the monthly management accounts process.
  • Assist in preparing year-end statutory accounts and coordinating the audit process.
  • Oversee various regulatory reporting submissions to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Prepare and manage corporation tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.

Project Work:

  • Participate in and lead adhoc projects as assigned by the Director of Finance, offering expertise in financial accounting and reporting

Requirements

  • Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Proven experience within building societies or financial services, particularly banking
  • Demonstrated understanding of mortgage and savings products
  • In-depth knowledge of FRS102, includigng IAS39 hedge accounting, and effective interest rate reporting
  • Comprehensive grasp of regulatory and corporation tax requirements
