Your new company

A major engineering, environmental and design consultancy. They have ongoing projects in flood risk management with work from frameworks for regulators and numerous local authorities in the UK, as well as major infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas.

Your new role

Main responsibilities:

  • Undertake and lead detailed technical work involving ICM hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS and technical reporting, and taking on a quality assurance role for technical deliverables.
  • Managing, supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Supporting project managers and directors by following project procedures.
  • To work effectively as part of a team.
  • To support tendering for projects and client/stakeholder engagement.

What you'll need to succeed Essential for this role:

  • Proven in-depth experience of 1D-2D modelling using InfoWorks ICM. Years of experience in carrying out flood risk analyses for strategy, planning, development, and or design purposes.
  • GIS skills in ArcGIS, MapInfo or QGIS.
  • Experience developing and leading technical teams, supporting and mentoring staff.

Desirable:

  • Use of other software, like Flood Modeller, TUFLOW / ESTRY or HEC-RAS is an advantage.
  • Experience in FEH hydrological assessment is desirable with a working knowledge of UK hydrology.
