Key Worker/Social Care Assistant

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a key worker (therapeutic mentor) for Lagom Children’s Residential Home in Worcester Park. The role involves supporting young people with all daily activities in the areas of health, education, achievements and social integration. The ideal candidate will be an energetic individual, prepared to go the extra mile for young people in our care, who can lead by example and help young people build upon their independence and social skills, ensuring the well-being and safety of the children. The role requires a DBS and references. Qualifications are not essential as training will be provided. Preferred candidates will have some experience working in residential children’s homes.  Career progression routes for right candidates. 

Qualifications

  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Child-focused practitioner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Desired but not essential HSC qualification (level 3)
  • Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to learn and engage in training programme
  • Ability to cover sleep in shift twice a week (rota basis)
  • DBS and references
