We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join our supportive team. The role is ideal for someone who has a passion for teaching and is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach individuals or small groups of pupils within or outside the class, tailoring lessons and resources to each student’s unique needs.
  • Mark and assess work, providing constructive feedback to support pupil progress.
  • Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the needs of each pupil, utilising special equipment and facilities to stimulate learning.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, defining appropriate activities for pupils in relation to the curriculum.
  • Assess children with long or short-term learning difficulties, working with colleagues to identify individual needs.
  • Liaise with other professionals, such as social workers and educational psychologists, to support pupil development.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to promote a holistic approach to education.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in teaching children with SEN is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and Equality Act (2010).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage pupils and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of pupils and the learning environment.
