Purpose Of The Post:
To ensure the efficiency / availability of plant and machinery is maximised through the organisation of reactive / planned maintenance and the management of the shift engineering team within the production facility. Provide out of hours telephone / on-site technical support and facilitate the support through third party contractors when necessary.
Skills and Career Objectives:
- Ability to organise and maintain the site standards in accordance with legislation and site procedures.
- Clear understanding of engineering processes and techniques for organisation of contractors and management of contracts.
- Ability to advise engineering team and support engineering team on site outside of normal working hours.
- Compliance operationally and legislatively for the site.
- Career path to Engineering Project Manager or chief engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detail Engineering Plan to operational and engineering team in advance of all main production shut downs of equipment for maintenance.
- Produce rolling monthly and annual report for preventative maintenance % adherence to schedule.
- Equipment and electrical systems within production areas must be maintained in accordance with PUWER 1998 regulations and IEE regulations.
- To ensure Company standards are maintained through laid down procedures and specifications.
- To work safely in accordance with site and departmental procedures, observing the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Food Safety Act 1990 and Engineering standards and legal compliance are meet.
- Complete engineering risk assessment for Preventative Maintenance Tasks within production areas.
- Using risk assessments to complete Engineering Safe Systems of Work for planned engineering tasks.
- To provide engineering out of normal working hours contact to advise and support the site engineering team.
- Management of production equipment service agreements as per governance agreed.
- Hands on support when required to support engineering team.
- Management of workload with engineering planner for all direct reports.
- Team attendance at daily meetings with operations.
- Represent engineering at daily operations meeting as required.

- 100% Planned Maintenance in production areas completed to Schedule.
- Completion of audits and Actions within timescales agreed.
- Engineering shift objectives and targets and PDP plans implemented.
- Top Loss review and progression of its use as a tool for reducing downtime
