Jetty Operator

Salary: £33,000 

Location: Erith, Kent 

We are looking for reliable Jetty / Intake Operator to join our team in Erith. This role is essential for managing the safe and efficient loading and unloading of finished products and raw materials via river vessels and bulk haulage trucks.

Role Purpose: As a Jetty Operator, you’ll be part of a small team ensuring safe and smooth operations, prioritizing health and safety, food safety, and environmental compliance while overseeing basic maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for personal and area safety.
  • Operate plant and machinery safely, including start-up, running, and shutdown processes.
  • Ensure throughput and product quality meet set standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness in production areas following GMP guidelines.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks and liaise with the maintenance team.
  • Report to the shift superintendent, logistics superintendent, and production management.
  • Accurately maintain process records.
  • Collaborate with other departments for seamless operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an operator/operative.
  • Strong IT skills for process record maintenance.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
