Reed Education are supporting a beautiful independent school in Esher, and we would love for you to join our nurturing and friendly nursery set in a unique forest school environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated Nursery Assistant with a Level 3 qualification in Early Years to cover a temporary period, with potential for a permanent role.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Assist with planning, organising, and delivering the curriculum in line with the school's policies and procedures.
  • Promote high standards of work and behaviour both in and out of the classroom.
  • Support the overall progress and development of pupils.
  • Provide pastoral support and create an appropriate atmosphere to enhance the social and emotional development of pupils.
  • Assist in the development of the curriculum and participate in various extra-curricular activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date records, assessments, and observations of the children’s progress as directed by the teachers.
  • Follow the school's health and safety policies and maintain a clean and safe environment for the children.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have an Early Years Educator (EYE) level 3 (or equivalent) or already studying towards it.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • GCSE English and Maths A – C or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with groups of children within the age range of 2½ to 7 years.
  • Ability to establish a caring and supportive environment for children.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to own professional development and ability to attend training relevant to the job.
  • First aid trained or willingness to undertake training.
  • A warm, approachable personality and a genuine love of working with children.
