Building Surveyor Major Works (Part-Time, 3 Days a Week) Location: Surrey
Rate: 55.95 per hour (Umbrella)

We are recruiting for a experienced Building Surveyor on a part-time basis for a Local Authority dealing with capital works projects. Ensuring our Council's land and property assets are fit for purpose, legally compliant, and managed efficiently with minimal disruption.
We are seeking a Building Surveyor - Major Works to deliver and manage major capital works contracts, planned maintenance, and repair programmes.
Key Responsibilities Major Works Delivery:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute major capital works projects and maintenance programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with contract specifications, performance standards, and statutory obligations.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards.
Surveying Services:
  • Conduct building surveys, defect analyses, feasibility studies, and cost estimations.
  • Provide professional technical advice to stakeholders.
  • Prepare specifications, drawings, tender documents, and obtain necessary licences and consents.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in managing major works contracts and delivering surveying services.
  • Strong understanding of building regulations, statutory compliance, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent project management, inspection, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, and deliver within set timelines.
