My client is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Operations Manager to support the Directors and ensure smooth and efficient processes across all departments. This role is central to their operations, focusing on operational excellence, team leadership, and enhancing customer experiences. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple functions effectively.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Operations Oversight: Maintain a visible presence in the operating depots, assisting General Managers with planning and problem-solving.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate staff, providing training and support to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
  • Stock Management: Oversee stock composition across the business from the Head Office perspective, ensuring efficiency and readiness for customer needs.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budgeting and forecasting, keeping operational costs within budget while maintaining high service and quality levels.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously refine operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Supplier & Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to explore cost-saving opportunities.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Engage in regular reporting and analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and lead key projects within operations, ensuring timely and within-scope delivery.
  • Customer Service: Act as the escalation point for high-value customers to ensure top-level satisfaction.
  • Systems Expertise: Master internal systems to aid team efficiency at all levels.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Data-driven decision-making with strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects with superb organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates must have a good grasp of P & L; revenue, costs, expenses etc
  • In-depth knowledge of operational processes and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other operational tools/software.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to management.
  • Some travel to other depots required, so need a full Drivers licence
