Locum Social Worker - Childrens Services

Safeguarding

Responsibilities:

  • Protecting children and young people from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families where there are concerns about abuse or neglect.
  • Gathering information from various sources, including the child, family members, schools, healthcare providers and other relevant parties, to evaluate the level of risk and determine appropriate interventions.
  • Developing and implementing child protection plans aimed at mitigating risks and ensuring the safety of children.
  • Participating in case meetings, child protection conferences and court proceedings as necessary.
  • Advocating for the best interests of the child and ensuring that safeguarding measures are effectively implemented.
  • Engaging in preventative work, such as delivering training & awareness-raising initiatives within communities, schools and other settings to promote early identification of risks and improve safeguarding practices.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children and families in a social work setting, for a minimum of three years.
  • A degree in social work.
  • Registration with Social Work England as a Qualified Social Worker.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks and develop effective intervention plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity.
