Our Client is looking for driven design managers to join its busy team, based in London.

The Design Manager is responsible for managing and delivering design information for construction projects. They work closely with design consultants, ensuring compliance with standards and briefs. They provide design input at both preconstruction and construction stages, assess and manage design risks, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and industry codes of practice. The Design Manager is expected to have a strong understanding of the design process, technical knowledge, and experience working on BIM level 2 projects.

You will be joining a team with pedigree in delivering major public sector works across London: Working on the delivery of design information for the agreed programme, liaising with stakeholders to ensure that designs meet all requirements.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Relevant Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture
  • Demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment
  • Experience with BIM level 2 projects, including COBie data and LoDM
  • Strong knowledge of the design process at commercial and construction design stages
  • Familiarity with the RIBA plan of work
  • Good technical knowledge across relevant work packages in large building projects
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current building regulations
  • Understanding of key design principles such as M&E design parameters, fire and acoustic requirements
  • Knowledge of Building Contracts (NEC, JCT, etc.) and Consultant Contracts
  • Ability to produce detailed presentations and deliver them to internal and external stakeholders


The ideal candidate will have a full UK driving licence as well as CSCS card for site visits.
