Senior DevOps Engineer / Consultant (HPC, Kubernetes, Linux)
Location: Mostly Remote with some travel UK cities
Duration: 3 months (To start ASAP)
Day Rate: 600 - 650 Outside IR35

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Higher Education and demonstrate expertise in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Kubernetes, and Linux. Familiarity with open-source connectivity in a live production environment is essential. This position is critical for driving operational efficiency and optimising infrastructure within higher education institutions.

Key skills required:
* High-Performance Computing (HPC): Experience in managing, deploying, and optimising HPC systems, including parallel processing and resource management in high-demand environments.
* Kubernetes: Expertise in deploying, managing, and scaling containerised applications using Kubernetes, including orchestration, networking, and security.
* Linux: Proficiency in Linux system administration, including shell scripting, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting in production environments.
* Open Source Connectivity: Experience with integrating and managing open-source tools and technologies in live production environments.
* Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and infrastructure automation for scalable environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
* CI/CD Pipelines: Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices, automation, and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
* Configuration Management: Expertise in tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
