Your new companyHays Senior Finance are working exclusively with a market-leading manufacturing/supply chain organisation in the Evesham area as they look to appoint a new Financial Controller on a permanent basis.My client, a multi-million pound entity of a larger, privately owned Group, have experienced excellent growth in recent years to further cement their position as a leading name in their industry.

Your new roleWorking as a number two to the Finance Director, you will become a key member of the Senior Management team. You'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a busy finance function, supporting across all areas and leading a small team.

Key duties:

  • Maintain and develop internal controls and processes
  • Production and review of monthly management accounts
  • Lead on the annual statutory audit including the preparation of financial statements and assisting external auditors
  • Production and presentation of annual budgeted P&L, balance sheet and cashflows
  • Development and maintenance of daily cashflow management and quarterly cashflow forecasting
  • Oversee the preparation and review of weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Liaison with external bodies in preparing and reviewing annual R&D tax claims
  • Oversee accurate submissions for key stakeholders including waste packaging submissions and sales returns
  • Staff management, training and development (4 staff)
  • Assist with the ongoing development and review of H&S strategies

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) - QBE candidates will be considered providing relevant experience can be demonstrated
  • Previous experience of working in a similar, hands-on operational Financial Controller or Finance Manager role
  • Commercially aware with the confidence to add value across all levels of an organisation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Skilled at managing and developing finance staff
  • Excellent IT proficiency, specifically Excel, and knowledge of finance systems (SAP preferable)
