Accounts Senior - Responsibilities

  • Producing statutory accounts under FRS 102, FRS 105 and IFRS and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.
  • Overseeing or directly handling clients' bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns.
  • Responding to client inquiries on various accounting and tax issues, offering guidance, and maintaining relationships.
  • Preparing and submitting corporation tax and personal tax returns, advising on tax planning strategies where relevant.
  • Producing periodic management accounts and providing clients with financial insights to help with decision-making.
  • Handling correspondence and compliance matters with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Reviewing the work done by junior staff, including bookkeeping, accounts preparation, and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Providing training to junior team members and offering mentorship to help them develop their skills.
  • Managing workloads within the team, delegating tasks based on skill levels, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Accounts Senior - Requirements

  • Proven work experience within practice.
  • AAT qualified / part qualified or working towards ACCA or ACA qualification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills.
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities.
